Shaun Deeb: Mocks Women and Plays Ladies Poker Event at World Series

There's a lot of ways you can describe the men who played the Ladies Event at the World Series of Poker this year. At best it was a foolish attempt to stand up for the idea that poker is an even playing field so a ladies event is not needed. At worst it was selfish, rude and outright pathetic. It all depends on whether you believe a serious message was intended by the get up Shaun Deeb busted out and shown right as he played the event.

Daniel makes some good points (below) and furthermore I'd like to know who these random men think they are to 'stand up for' these apparently unfortunate women who thought they were having a fun day's poker! Sorry ladies you were in fact being oppressed... or not if you ask me. Nice try guys. We also have a video interview with Deeb below.

I mean, you have over 1000 women in that event who love it! Why in the world would we want to spoil their fun in the name of sexual equality? I mean really. Really????? Men have had it pretty good, so whining about sexual equality as a man is a pretty lame excuse to take part in a ladies event. It's beyond lame, it's just plain foolish. You aren't fighting for men's rights, or women's right for that matter, you are just being an ass.

The simple truth is this is an attempt to bring exposure to an under-represented group at the WSOP and have a fun event that there very much is demand for. It's not as if money is being taken from other events to pay for it and ladies are free to enter any other events they wish so it's not as if this is their only opportunity to play - it's just an EXTRA opportunity to play in an environment some of them enjoy more and feel more comfortable in.
