Sunshine as Phil Laak Storms World Record Poker Session

Phil Laak is apparently on his way into the Guinness Book of World Records as he has played the longest poker session in history. 115 hours without sleep would be an impossible challenge in itself to most mortals but Laak, who appears surprisingly full of energy at the 80 hour mark was able to not only achieve this but deliver winning poker as he went.

I have to say I was a little bit worried... I didn't think it would be this positive and uplifting... he's superhuman
Jennifer Tilley (Laak's Partner)

Cameras were on hand during the attempt and Laak explained his motivations as campsunshine.org, the challenge and the fame as the main reasons he wanted to break through the old record.

I think the most exciting part about his achievement is that something so degenerate as staying awake as long as possible and gambling has achieved something so positive. I hope the kids at Camp Sunshine get a great deal of benefit out of the money raised as it certainly seems to be a cause close to Laak's heart.
